The Lady Bronco Golf Silver and Red Golf Teams opened their 26-27 season on Tuesday at Stonetree Golf Course. The tournament was hosted by Ellison. Stonetree will be the site of the District Tournament so the Lady Bronco Golfers were ready to get on the course and compete at the 6A level.
The Silver Team finished 11th and the Red Team finished 13th. Both had very good showings are were excited about their upcoming year.
The Silver Team shot a team score of 430. This score was 14 strokes better than the team average for the 25-26 season.
Senior Lyliana Gonzalez led the way for the Silver Team. Gonzalez shot 89, which tied her school personal best round that she shot at Cottonwood in the spring of '26. She had one birdie, four pars, and six bogeys. She finished 11th individually. And for the golfers in district 12-6A, she finished 3rd. It was a great first tournament. She shot ten strokes better than her average last year.
Sophomore Hayleigh McConnell is a Silver Team returner. She shot 110. She had one par and four bogeys. McConnell was 12 strokes better than her average last year.
Silver Team returner Lillie Mikes, senior had the third best round for the Lady Broncos. She shot 114 and was five strokes better than her average in 25-26. Mikes had four bogeys.
Rounding out the scoring for the Silver Team was Sophomore Whitley Truett. This was Truett's debut on the Silver Team. Truett played as a freshman but missed the majority of the season due to injury. She shot 117 and had two bogeys. Truett was ten strokes better than her previous average.

The Red Team shot a 465, which was an 11 shot improvement from their average last year.
Leading the way for the Red Team was Sophomore Emory Jolivet. Jolivet shot a 112, which was five shots better than 25-26. She had two pars and three bogeys.
Fellow Sophomore Kaylee Holler had the second best round for the Red Team. She shot 115 which was a new Personal Best Round! Her previous personal best was a 119 at Sammons in 2025. Holler also had her first ever birdie after almost making an ace on hole 16! She also had her first par. As a matter of fact, she had two!
Freshman Caitilin Stringer began her high school golf career after playing Middle School golf for the Belton ISD North side schools. She had a great 116, for the first time walking 18 holes. She had one par and two bogeys.
Rounding out the scoring for the Red Team was Senior Araceli Young. Young shot a 122, which was a whopping 17 strokes better than her average her junior year.
Every member of the golf team improved upon the previous years average! It was a great first tournament.
The Bronco Team will be in action again on October 13 at the Cedar Ridge JV Tournament at Blackhawk.
The Silver and Red Team will play their next tournament at the Lake Belton Tournament at Sammons on October 19. The Bronco Team will also be joining.
