The Lake Belton Freshman Red volleyball team battled Midway’s top freshman team in a competitive matchup, falling in two sets, 25–22 and 25–15. Despite the final score, the Lady Broncos showed improvement and competed hard against a strong Midway squad.

Lake Belton did a good job of minimizing its own errors, which allowed the Broncos to stay close and compete throughout both sets. The team showed better focus and consistency, making Midway work for every point.

Macey Brent continued to show her ever growing confidence on the offensive side of the net. Brent was not afraid to take the big swing and attack aggressively when opportunities came her way. Her willingness to stay aggressive helped Lake Belton put pressure on Midway’s defense.

Kinley Pitts also turned in a strong performance defensively. Pitts showed great effort and determination, working hard to keep balls in play and give the Broncos opportunities to transition back into offense.

Although Lake Belton came up short, the Freshman Red team showed that it can compete with quality competition.
