The Lake Belton Cross Country Team traveled to Mansfield yesterday to compete in the Maberry Invitational. The meet started with the girl's varsity 5K race. With cooler temperatures, the Broncos captured many personal bests. The varsity girls were led by junior Lucy Loa who crossed the line in 30th place. Shreya Muni (34th), Sarah Gray (37th), Mady Rivas (38th), and Amara Bodeman (39th) rounded out the tope 5 for the Lady Broncos. The varsity girls finished in 6th place out of 14 teams. On the boys' side, senior Wyatt Potts shattered his 5K school record by 32 seconds to capture 13th place in the varsity boys' race. Tyler Adkins Beltran (39th), Drew Houston (47th), Jack McCullagh (63rd), and Austin Adams (78th) contributed to the team points for the Broncos. As a team, the varsity boys secured 9th place out of 26 teams.
The JV girls team were led by freshman Sage Anderson who crossed the line in 4th place and with a personal best time. Close behind were Kimberly Solin Colon (10th), Abby Glasser (16th), Lydia Garcia (18th), and Harper Holt (19th). The JV girls had a solid 2nd place finish out 16 teams in the team standings.
The JV boys were led by junior Jakob Arevalo. Catalin Cheianu, Hank Rykken, Jackson Reed, and Cole Bryan also scored points for the Broncos in the JV race. Overall the boys finished in 14th place out of 23 teams.
Lake Belton will travel to Heritage Park in Belton on Thursday to compete in the Pro Fit Last Chance Invitational.
