The Lake Belton High School Bronco Tennis team concluded an incredible team tennis season at home at the Bi-District round against Mansfield. Though the final match score went to Mansfield 11-6, the record tells only a fraction of the story. Up and down the lineup, the Broncos showcased relentless grit, sportsmanship, and heart, pushing Mansfield to the absolute limit in a series of dramatic, edge-of-your-seat finishes.

Lake Belton ends their standout campaign with a impressive 12-5 overall record, building a foundation of excellence that the program will carry forward for years to come.

High-Energy Wins on the Courts
The Broncos made their presence felt early with dominant performances in both singles and doubles play:

Brianna Dubrocq & Sonia Padmanabhan set a fiery tone in girls' doubles, cruising to a flawless 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Addison Kruppa put on a masterclass in singles, sweeping her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in a dominant performance, while also teaming up with Eliana Cavazos to take a thriller in doubles, 6-1, 2-6, (10-1).

Abigale Harris delivered a near-perfect performance in her singles match, rolling to a crisp 6-1, 6-0 win.

Andrew Williams notched a gritty, hard-fought victory in boys' singles, battling through tight games to earn a 6-3, 7-5 win.

Reid Ramirez & Ben Johnson showed poise under pressure in boys' doubles, clawing back after a tough second set to win their super tie-break 6-3, 1-6, (10-5).

Heartbreak in the Super Tie-Breaks
In playoff tennis, the line between victory and defeat often comes down to just a few points. Mansfield ultimately clinched the team win by capturing three ultra-competitive super tie-breakers:

Ethan Muehlstein & Andrew Williams dropped a heartbreaker 6-2, 6-7(4), (4-10) after setting the pace early.

Sara Stephens & Alyssa Naumann battled back fiercely in the second set before falling in a tight tie-break 5-7, 6-3, (3-10).

Quint Mackenzie fought through an epic singles battle, forcing a third-set tie-break before coming up just short 1-6, 7-6(7-5), (9-11).

When Mansfield reached the required 10 match victories to clinch the team win, Sonia Padmanabhan and Eli Stewart were still locked in fierce battles of their own, leaving everything on the court with unfinished matches.

Character and Sportsmanship
While the final score didn't go the Broncos' way, the character of this team shone through until the final ball hit the fence. As they have all year, the players represented Lake Belton High School with high integrity, competing with class and fighting until every single match was completed.

Finishing 12-5 overall is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unity of these student-athletes. The players, coaches, and Bronco community have every reason to be incredibly proud of this memorable season!
