Broncos Mix It Up at Mill Creek
The LAKE Belton High School boys golf team competed in the Bobby Peschel Memorial Golf Tournament at Mill Creek Country Club in Salado on Wednesday, the 7th of October. This even was a grueling 27-hole event with the boys walking all three nines of the Roert Trent Jones Jr. course. The scoring combined the total of Creek 1 and Creek 2, then added the score from Creek 3. It was a beautiful day for golf with excellent temperatures, light winds, and blue skies. The young Bronco team played well, finishing in the middle-of-the-pack of a 16-team field.
The boys were led by sophomore Heston Seideman, who finished with a 27-hole total of 110. That was a good enough score to earn Heston a T-4 medal! Heston’s iron play was especially outstanding, hitting most approach shots to within 15 feet of the pin. Freshman Hayes Pethtel was second on the team shooting a great 119 for the entire event. This was Hayes’ first 27-hole high school tournament, and he showed true grit and perseverance playing golf for over seven hours! Following Hayes, junior Brooks Hull took a total of 128 swings to finish the tournament. Brooks’ score of four over par (38) on creek three was outstanding. Senior Duncan Moore placed fourth on the Broncos Varsity Silver team, posting a score of 143 for the event. Duncan’s positive attitude and determination are a huge asset to the team. Rounding out the team, sophomore Jackson Dolotina had a 27-hole total of 146 strokes. Jackson had a particularly long day at Mill Creek, but he never gave up on himself or his team and was determined to leave every ounce of energy he had on the course. We can all be proud of the maximum effort displayed by the boys golf team today!
The boys varsity silver and varsity red golf teams will tee it up next at The Bronco Invitational at Wild Flower Country Club on November the 2nd.
