The Lake Belton Broncos finished 2nd in the 2nd annual BISD Tournament over the weekend. Lake Belton played a couple of games on the first day of the tournament by beating Midway JV in the first round of the tournament, 41-28. The Broncos were able to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament to take on Hutto, where it was a back and forth affair over 4 quarters. The Broncos were able to pull out the victory in the end by beating Hutto 39-35 to advance to the championship game. In the championship game, the Broncos took on district foe Belton for the championship. The game went back and forth over the 1st half, with Lake facing a 6 point deficit at the half. The Broncos came out in the 2nd half and had the game tied with just under 2 minutes remaining. The Broncos, down 2 , were not able to tie the game at the buzzer, losing to Belton 42-40.

The Broncos return to action on Tuesday in Georgetown at Gateway Prep, with the game starting at 6:15.
