The 9th grade Silver basketball team was certainly in a festive spirit on Tuesday evening as they opened up district play with the University Trojans. After a sluggish start the Broncos would prevail over the Trojans, 46-40. In a back and forth affair the Broncos would take a double digit lead into the 4th quarter and would eventually hold on for a 6 point victory. Leading scorers for the Broncos were Avery Diaz with 16 points, Allen Muchunu with 12 points, and Jackson Streigler with 7 points. The Broncos will take a little break over the holidays before they start back up district play again on January 2nd at Waco High.
