The Bronco Varsity Red Golf team placed sixth at the Badger Winter Invitational posting a total score of 337. The Broncos finished behind some of the best 4A teams in the state including several state qualifiers from last year, including Wimberly and Brownwood. The stay started of pretty cold, but as the weather warmed up so did the golf! The boys were led by Sophomore Gavin Kerr who shot a great 81, displaying great chipping and putting skills on several holes. Gavin was followed by Junior Nick Brooks who posted a solid 83 for the day. Right behind Nick Junior Rawley Soliz who turned in a great 86. Junior Hudson Nix was one stroke behind Rawley, carding a very nice 87. Senior Ty Laxson’s 89 was his best as a Bronco, and a vast improvement over his last tournament…proving hard work and patience pay off. The boys are excited to travel to Burnet and Delaware Springs Golf Course for their next tournament on February 16th.
