Lady Bronco Silver began their Spring Tournament season on Tuesday, February 6 at the Bastrop Oldfield-Pfeiffer Invitation at Hyatt Lost Pines. Four Lady Broncos competed in the tournament that included some of the best 5A and 6A schools in the state.
Lady Bronco Silver had some rust to knock off coming off the break, but fought hard and made improvements as the day progressed on a beautiful early February day. They managed to finish in a respectable 9th place out of 14 schools.
Freshman Carly Marshall had a great, although uncharacteristic round of golf. Marshall shot a four over par 76, with no birdies. That 76 was good enough to earn Marshall a 2nd place win individually, just one stroke back from a senior and Oklahoma State commit from St. Agnes.
Marshall lead the way for the Silver team with her 76. She was followed by Junior Riley Clawson with an obvious higher than normal 100. Junior Kat Moore and Sophomore Jackie Couture finished out the scoring for Lady Bronco Silver. Senior Shelby Chaney was unable to play because of the stock show.
A complete Silver Team will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, February 16 & 17 at the Waco ISD Invitational at Cottonwood. Red and Bronco Teams open their season on Monday, February 12 at Sammons at the Temple ISD Valentine's Invitational.
