The Bronco Varsity Silver golf team brought home the third place trophy from the Waco I.S.D. Spring Invitational posting a two day score of 649. The field included some of the top teams in the state as well as international competition from Columbia. The first day of the tournament saw cool temperatures and very strong winds, which made the course difficult at best. Day two started cold, but warmed up quickly and the winds died down significantly. The improved conditions led to slightly better scores for all the teams in the field. The team was led by Sophomore Miles Parker whose two day score of 157 placed him in the top ten for the tournament. Miles was followed by Senior Mason Euer and Sophomore Jackson Null who posted identical sores of 162. Senior James Bond’s two day total of 170 was good for fourth on the team and Junior Nicholas Brooks rounded out the team with a two day total of 177. Nick’s second day improvement of nine strokes led the team in second day improvement. The boys are excited to tee it up again at the state preview tournament at Legacy Hills in Georgetown on March 1st and 2nd.
