Lake Belton Girls Powerlifting Shines: 17 Athletes Qualify for Regionals

Lake Belton High School's girls' powerlifting team is setting a high bar for success, with an impressive 17 athletes qualifying for regional competition.
Among the qualifiers, nine remarkable athletes—Shekayla Munoz, Moriah Rydberg, Macie Solis, Emma Scholz, Kaitlyn Maus, Emily Bachicha, Elayna Castor, Danielle Esquivel, and Allie Uzzell—have earned their spot at regionals for the first time.
Adding to the team's depth are veterans Taylor Love, Scarlytt Cotham, Madyson Updyke, Victoria Shimabukuro, Jaya Lisenbe, Michelle Lamar, Elizabeth Rutherford, and Lillyann Walden, who have once again proven their prowess by qualifying for multiple years. These experienced lifters bring not only their strength but also their leadership and guidance to the team, serving as role models for their first-time qualifier teammates.
The 17 athletes have qualified across a variety of weight classes, demonstrating the team's diverse talent and adaptability. Their journey ahead is filled with anticipation and promise. With a mix of first-time qualifiers and seasoned competitors, Lake Belton's powerlifting team is poised to make a significant impact at regionals.
The regional meet will be held this Saturday beginning at 8:30 AM at Elgin High School.
