Friday, March 1 Abigail Rydberg and Emily Bachicha traveled to College Station to compete in the Texas A&M Bluebonnet Invitational. Athletes had to submit previous marks and qualify to earn the opportunity to attend this meet. Bachicha qualified and competed in the 100m dash and the 200m dash where she set a new personal best and school record. Rydberg qualified in the pole vault and vaulted to a height of 12-0 matching her personal best and school record to finish as the silver medalist at the prestigious meet.

Saturday, March 2, despite having athletes scattered across the state and country at various other extracurricular activities, the girls team was still able to come home with several accomplishments. Shreya Muni started off the day with a new personal best and school record in the 3200m run. The remainder of the 2-mile crew went on to set 3 personal best marks and 1 season best mark. Dylan Presley matched her personal best and school record in the varsity high jump for a first place finish and Audrey Mughelli broke her personal best in the triple jump for the third week in a row to bring home the silver medal. Jazmin Mojica De La Cruz kicked scoring off for the JV girls with a gold medal jump in the long jump in her event debut before the varsity girls sprint relay team opened up the afternoon with a first place finish in the 4x100 relay. 7 out of 8 runners set a personal best in the 800m ahead of six new personal bests in the 100mH and 100m dash.

All in all on the weekend the Lake Girls Track team brought home 2 new school records, matched 2 other school records, set 26 personal best marks, and saw the podium 14 times.
