Lady Bronco Golf Red Team and Bronco Medalists played in the Bastrop Tournament at ColoVista on Wednesday, February 28. It was another blustery, cold day for golf, but the girls played their best in the difficult conditions.
The team shot a 481 and finished just beneath the host school.
Senior Da Hae Keum shot the low round for the Red Team with a 115, which included one par. Freshman Lillie Mikes continued to improve and was the second lowest score for the Red Team. Mikes had a 119 which included her first ever par. Sophomore Nena Tamarez put in the third lowest score for the Red Team with two bogeys, followed closely by Senior Emily Delgado. Delgado had one bogey. Junior Lexie Holler rounded out the scoring for the Red Team.
Freshman Suellen Tillis competed as a medalist in the tournament. It was her second tournament and she improved upon her first round by two strokes.
After Spring Break, Red Team will join with the Silver Team on Thursday, March 21 at the Belton ISD Invitational at Stonetree in Killeen. This will determine teams and placement for district, which will be March 25 and 26 at Stonetree.
