The Varsity Silver Boys Golf Team played in the Region 3 preview tournament at Margaritaville in Conroe Wednesday the 6th of March. The course was set up long (almost 7,000 yards) and the trees were large. The Broncos struggled at times, but persevered and finished in the middle of the pack. For several members of the team this was their first time playing this course, and it’s very different from the courses in Central Texas. The learning experience was invaluable, and will certainly pay dividends when they return in April. For the preview the low score on the team went to sophomore Miles Parker whose 81 let the team. Miles was followed my Senior James Bond who carded a total of 85 strokes for the day. Right behind James, sophomore Jackson Null played a great back nine to turn in a score of 88. Senior Mason Euer had a total of 90 strokes and junior Nick Brooks finished with a score of 94. The team total for the day was a pedestrian 344. Also playing for the Broncos in the tournament were medalists Gavin Kerr and Rawley Soliz. They turned in scores of 95 and 94, respectively.
The team is very excited to play in the district preview tournament at Stonetree Golf Course in Killen on March 22nd and 23rd.
