The Lake Belton Boys Track & Field program would return to competition on the track after a well earned spring break. Due to potential weather in the forecast Thursday, the meet would be rescheduled for Friday. Though a curveball was thrown into the preparation, the Broncos would respond to the change in the right way.

The only field event completed on the day was the pole vault, where Hunter Myers would take home his second 1st place this season with a leap of 13-0. Carson Yandell finished 3rd with a 12-0. In the running events, the 4x100 meter relay team (Cash Robin, Kendrick Jones Jr, Zion Harness, Zach Dodd) would come away with a 1st place finish in a time of 42.69, a new season best. Ryan Camacho would join in on the podium next , finishing 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles. The 4x200 meter relay team (Zach Dodd, Cash Robin, Josh Mallard, Zion Harness) finished 2nd, as Harness almost rallied the Broncos to first in the final stretch. In the 400 meter dash, Kendrick Jones Jr and Keaton Washington would go 1 and 2, earning the Broncos 18 points in the event. Zy Thomas was up next to join the podium, finishing 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles. In the final event of the day, the 4x400 meter relay team would come away finishing the race with a time of 3:25.54, good enough for not only first, but also a new school record. Overall, the Varsity Broncos would finish the meet as champions. This was the 4th consecutive Broncos Relays Championship for the varsity team.

The JV boys would finish as the Runner Ups, battling hard from start to finish. Freshman Brayden Rohling would be the lone gold medalist for the Broncos, finishing 1st in the 800 meter run with a new PR of 2:13. Rohling would also take home 2nd in the 400. The 4x100 meter relay (Cooper Arnold, Joey Read, Tekoa Martin, Braxtan Cope), 4x200 meter relay team (Cooper Arnold, Joey Read, Cavan Pilkington, Tekoa Martin) and the 4x4 meter relay team (Brayden Rohling, Joey Read, Cavan Pilkington, Zack Summy) would finish 2nd place overall on the evening in all relays. Zack Summy would finish 2nd place in the 300 meter hurdles, while Tekoa Martin would finish with a bronze in the 100 meter dash to close out the top finishers on the evening.

With the week over, the Broncos will have one more tune up meet before the 22-5A District Championships occur on April 3-4. The Broncos will be traveling to Lampasas next Thursday, March 28th to compete in the Johnny Lam Jones Relays.
