The Bronco Varsity Red Golf Team finished in 3rd place at the District 22-5A golf tournament held March 27th and 28th at Stonetree golf course in Killeen. The team played well the first day of the tournament, and even better the second day. That first day was led by Junior Hudson Nix who shot a great 86. Right behind Hudson sophomore Jack Brown carded a very nice 88. Sophomore Gavin Kerr and Freshman Austin Watson shot identical 89s the first day, and the team was rounded out with Sophomore Brayden Hoff’s 96. The second day of the tournament opened up grit and determination. This was on display with Brayden Hoff set on bettering his first day score, which he did by dropping his score by fourteen strokes to card a second day total of 82 and a two day total of 178. Austin also dropped his score by a few strokes, shooting 83 with a tournament total of 172 (just missing the score to advance to the regional tournament). Hudson dropped a couple of strokes too shooting an 84 for a total 170, that was good enough to get Hudson into the Region III tournament at Margaritaville Resort in Montgomery. Gavin and Jack came in a little behind Hudson shooting matching 92 with two day scores of 181 and 180, respectively.
