Bronco tennis advanced nine players to the Regional Tournament on Wednesday and Thursday. Luke Droege won his first round match against Sajal Chauhan 7-5, 7-6 (7-1). Luke lost his second round against Adam Roman 6-3, 6-0.
The doubles team of Steven Dawson and Emilio Gonzalez lost in the first round to an A&M Consolidated team. Nathan Dawson and Owen Gersbach lost also in the first round to a Georgetown team.
Seniors Ava Locklin and Maya Davies Honea lost in the first round to a strong team from Friendswood.
In mixed doubles, Brodie Reed (senior) and Jillian Webb (junior) won 6-0, 6-0 against a Foster team in the first round. In the quarter finals, they defeated an A&M Consolidated team 6-0, 6-0. In the semifinals, they played a team from Georgetown and won 6-2, 6-3. They lost in the finals to a State team from Foster in a hard fought match 6-0, 6-2. Brodie and Jillian will advance to the State tournament May 16th-17th. RISEUP!
