Freshman Silver traveled to East View High School in Georgetown, Texas last night. The Lady Broncos would take down the Lady Patriots in three sets. The Lady Broncos got off to a slow start losing the first set 17-25. The Lady Broncos would regain some momentum in the second set, winning 25-13 forcing a pivotal third set. The Lady Broncos came out firing on all cylinders in the last set, as they would win in dominate fashion 25-5. The Lady Broncos definitely got into a groove as the night went on and it was fun to watch.
On the offensive attack, Olivia Maldonado was effective from behind the service line as she led the team with four aces. Aleksee Lutz was powerful on the attack as the Lady Patriots struggled to come up with to block or dig her balls. Ayaana Omisola was strategic on her tips and found a way to exploit the opponents defensive weaknesses. Defensively, Avery Reinhardt and Kenna Morrison were consistent in their digs throughout the match.
The Lady Broncos finished the night strong and they are hoping to keep that momentum, as they resume play Saturday morning in day two of the Belton ISD Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Broncos won all three sets in day one of tournament and find themselves in the Gold Bracket.
