The Bronco Varsity Golf Team earned the runner-up trophy at the Burnet Invitational held at Delaware Spring Golf Course. The boys bounced back from a lackluster 325 and 6th place finish at Salado. The team played extremely well slashing 20 strokes from their score turning in a great 305 on Tuesday. That 305 was good for a second place finish, only four strokes behind tournament champion Regents, from Austin. The team was led by Junior Jackson Null who broke his own school record by posting a bogy-free 67, which included an impressive 30-foot birdie putt on the par five sixth hole. Jackson’s 67 also earned him tournament championship honors as an individual, leading the second place golfer from Regents by 3 strokes. Junior Miles Parker followed Jackson posting a great 74, including a remarkable five birdies in a row! (4th place overall), knocking six strokes off of his last round. Senior Nick Brooks was third on the team and also improving on his last tournament by posting an excellent 81 at Delaware. Senior Rawley Soliz turned a very nice 83 to finish fourth on the team, and Junior Jack Brown rounded out the scoring by posting an 18 hole score of 87. The boys are excited to play next at the Bronco Invitational at The Courses of Clear Creek on Fort Cavasos.
