Lake Belton JV Silver Triumphs Over Cedar Park 26-21 in a Thrilling Road Victory
The Lake Belton JV Silver football team secured a hard-fought 26-21 victory over Cedar Park on the road, improving their season record to 7-1 and remaining undefeated in district play at 5-0.
The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading scores throughout. Lake Belton started strong with a touchdown run by Reese Rosenbaum, followed by a successful PAT from Kaden Ortiz. Cedar Park responded, but Lake Belton's Jayden Haye electrified the crowd with a kickoff return for a touchdown. Ortiz once again nailed the extra point, tying the game 14-14 at halftime.
In the second half, Aiden Holden caught a touchdown pass from Logan Winkler, though the PAT attempt was no good, leaving the score tight. With only 46 seconds left in the game, Gavin Carpenter punched in a rushing touchdown to give Lake Belton the lead. On Cedar Park's final possession, Zack Summy came through with a crucial sack, sealing the victory for the Broncos.
Lake Belton now sets its sights on next Wednesday’s matchup against Georgetown, a showdown for the district championship.
