Lake Belton Swimmers Make Waves at Potts Invitational

The Lake Belton swim team performed admirably at the 4th Annual Roy and Jean Potts Invitational, securing several top-three finishes in various events. The girls' 200-yard medley relay team, featuring Rowan Sebek, Brooke Phillips, Elizabeth Simeroth, and Isabella Clark, clinched second place with a time of 2:13.20, earning valuable points. Brooke Phillips also showcased her skills in individual events, winning the girls' 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:34.01 and placing fourth in the 100-yard butterfly. Elizabeth Simeroth stood out in sprint events, finishing third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.38 and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:03.94.

On the boys' side, Lake Belton displayed strong teamwork and individual prowess. The boys' A-team for the 200-yard medley relay, composed of Elijah Firkins, Connor Johnson, Joshua Naumann, and Kieran Scott, took third place, finishing at 1:56.63. In the 200-yard freestyle, Kieran Scott and Connor Johnson showcased their endurance, securing second and third places with times of 2:06.73 and 2:07.32, respectively. Joshua Naumann delivered an impressive performance in the 200-yard individual medley, earning third place with a time of 2:19.26.

The Lake Belton swimmers continued to make waves in the longer freestyle events, with Jacob Gerakos and Joshua Naumann finishing second and third in the boys' 500-yard freestyle. The team also demonstrated their sprinting capabilities in relays, placing third in the boys' 200-yard freestyle relay with Jonas Rela, Connor Johnson, Jacob Gerakos, and Elijah Firkins clocking 1:50.31. Lake Belton's consistent performance across events highlighted their determination and teamwork at the meet.
