Lake Belton High School swimmers delivered an outstanding performance at the tri-meet against Belton High School and New Tech High School on January 7, 2025. The meet showcased incredible talent, with numerous top-three finishes highlighting the team’s determination and skill. The girls’ 200-yard medley relay team (Sebek, Phillips, Clark, and Paulk) claimed first place with a time of 2:13.85, narrowly edging out their second relay team (Baker, Clark, Simeroth, and Kim), which secured second place with a time of 2:14.16. The boys’ team also excelled, with their 200-yard medley relay (Gerakos, Stevens, Vazquez, and Firkins) taking first place in 2:00.43.
Individually, Lake Belton swimmers shone across various events. Christine Kim dominated the girls' 50-yard freestyle, finishing first with a blazing time of 25.35, while David Stewart III led the boys with a 24.16 victory in the same event. In the 100-yard freestyle, Elijah Firkins and Connor Johnson displayed consistent speed, finishing second and third, respectively. Additionally, Joshua Naumann and Kieran Scott delivered a strong one-two punch in the boys’ 200-yard individual medley, claiming first and second places with times of 2:20.15 and 2:23.86.
The meet concluded with thrilling relays, where the Lake Belton boys secured first and second places in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Stewart III, Johnson, Scott, and Fenton clinched victory with a time of 3:47.77, followed closely by teammates Florea, Naumann, Firkins, and Gerakos at 3:51.99. Overall, the team’s exceptional performances highlighted their teamwork and competitive edge, promising a strong season ahead.
