Lake Belton Lady Broncos Surge Past Belton Lady Tigers

The Lake Belton Lady Broncos delivered an impressive performance on January 22, securing a decisive 47-30 victory over the Belton Lady Tigers at Belton High School. The win showcased Lake Belton’s growing dominance as they start the second round of district play.

First Quarter Fireworks
The Lady Broncos came out firing on all cylinders, putting up 17 points in the first quarter while holding the Lady Tigers to just 5. Layla King and Alexa King set the tone early, combining for key buckets that energized the team. Their aggressive play on both ends of the court immediately put the Lady Tigers on the defensive.

Second Quarter Adjustment
Belton tried to claw their way back into the game, but the Lady Broncos continued to apply pressure, adding 12 points in the second quarter while limiting the Lady Tigers to 6. Natalie Maldonado began to make her presence felt, hitting a crucial three-pointer and contributing on defense with timely steals.

Balanced Team Effort
The third and fourth quarters saw consistent play from the Lady Broncos, matching Belton’s 13-point third-quarter effort while finishing strong with a 5-point fourth quarter. Natalie Maldonado led Lake Belton in scoring with 13 points, including a clutch shot beyond the arc. Layla King and Alexa King each added 8 points, with Alexa contributing five steals to disrupt the Lady Tigers’ offense.

Additional contributions came from Dannika Kelley and Gemma Pierce, who added defensive grit and key rebounds. Amara Sanchez also provided a spark, pulling down four rebounds.
