The Lake Belton High School swim team dominated the District 22-5A Championship meet on January 24, 2025, capturing both the women’s and men’s team titles with scores of 174 and 206 points, respectively. The boys’ 200-yard medley relay team of Elijah Firkins, Connor Johnson, Kaleb Vazquez, and Kieran Scott set the pace with a first-place finish at 1:57.86. The girls’ 400-yard freestyle relay team of Christine Kim, Gweneth Clark, Elizabeth Simeroth, and Brooke Phillips also took gold with a time of 3:55.43, sealing the team’s overall victory. The boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay (David Stewart III, Conner Florea, Firkins, and Joshua Naumann) followed suit with another first-place finish, clocking in at 1:37.86.

Lake Belton swimmers showcased exceptional individual performances throughout the meet. Gweneth Clark added to the team’s success with a second-place finish in the girls’ 200-yard freestyle at 2:05.29 and a victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.61. Brooke Phillips secured a win in the girls’ 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 1:19.40, while teammate Rowan Sebek earned second in the girls’ 500-yard freestyle at 6:13.98.

On the boys’ side, David Stewart III shined, taking first place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.89) and the 100-yard freestyle (50.19).
