The Lake Belton Lady Broncos hit the road on January 28 for a district matchup against the Waco Lady Lions, fighting until the final buzzer but ultimately coming up short in a 57-53 loss.
Despite trailing the entire game, the Lady Broncos showed resilience, chipping away at Waco’s lead quarter by quarter. The Lady Lions jumped out to a 15-10 advantage in the first quarter and maintained control at halftime, leading 32-26. Lake Belton kept pace in the third, narrowing the gap to 46-41, but Waco held on in the final minutes to secure the win.

Alexa King led the charge with 16 points.
Amara Sanchez followed with 12 points.
Gemma Pierce contributed 9 points.
Natalie Maldonado added 7 points.
With this result, Lake Belton moves to 5-3 in district play. The Lady Broncos will look to bounce back on January 31 when they travel to Chaparral High School to take on the Lady Bobcats at 7 p.m.
