Lake Belton Wrestling Team Sends 8 to Region II 5A Tournament in Dallas

The Lake Belton Wrestling team had a strong showing at the District 6-5A tournament, with both the boys' and girls' teams earning notable results and securing spots in the upcoming Region II 5A tournament. The event, set to take place at the Loos Fieldhouse in Addison on February 7 and 8, will feature some of the area’s best high school wrestlers, and Lake Belton will be well represented.

Girls Team Performance
The Lake Belton girls’ wrestling team finished 7th out of 13 teams, tallying an impressive 83 points. The team’s collective effort proved to be a key factor, with all five wrestlers contributing to the team’s score throughout the tournament. Their strong performance has earned them a chance to compete at the Region II 5A tournament, with all five girls advancing to the next level.

Anna Huffman led the team with a dominant 1st place finish, securing her spot at Regionals.

Lorelai Scallorn took 3rd, a strong showing that earned her a regional berth.

Scarlett Landry-Williams and Kameryn Vaden both finished 4th in their respective weight classes, also securing their spots at the Region II tournament.

Avery Ricks, who finished 5th, will serve as an alternate for the Regionals, ready to step in if needed.

With all five team members contributing, the girls have set themselves up for a competitive showing in Addison, and their collective effort will certainly play a role in their continued success.

Boys Team Performance
The boys’ team finished 10th out of 13 teams, scoring a total of 74 points. Though they faced tough competition, several individual wrestlers stood out, earning podium finishes and securing their places at the upcoming regional tournament.

Jacob Johnson had a stellar performance, earning 2nd place in his weight class and a guaranteed spot at Regionals.

Travellis Harrison Jr followed closely behind with a 3rd place finish, advancing to the next stage of competition.

Joey Casmus rounded out the top performers with a 5th place finish, earning an alternate position for Regionals.

Several other wrestlers contributed to the boys' total points, including Andrew Moore, Troy Horton, Cayden Miller, James Holt, Henry Fournier, Alexander Villarreal, Joey Casmus, Robert Robison, and Jacob Johnson, all of whom contributed victories throughout the tournament.
