The Lady Bronco Golf Red Team began their Spring season on Monday, February 10. They participated in the Temple Girls Valentine's Tournament at Sammons Golf Course. It was a large tournament with 14 teams and over 100 participants.
The warm weather from the previous week gave way and the girls played in their coldest tournament to date. They also dealt with a heavy drizzle most of the day.
By the end of a cold, muddy day, the Red Team finished in 8th place. They shot 458.
Sophomore Reese Sexton shot a personal best 95 to lead the Red Team. She beat her previous low round by a whopping 18 strokes. That was at Sammons in the fall. She finished 14th individually.
Lexie Holler, senior, turned in the second best score for the Red Team with a 119. It was her best round of the year and tied her personal best, also shot at Sammons in 2024. Holler was followed by freshmen Aurora Nance and Kaylee Carubelli with 122. Junior Nena Tamarez had a 123.
The Red Team will be in action again on Wednesday, February 19 at Star Ranch in Hutto.
