The Lake Belton Freshmen Red football team continued their strong start to the season with a commanding 57-0 shutout win, improving their record to 3-0. The Broncos displayed a complete team performance, dominating on both sides of the ball from start to finish.
Quarterback Gunner Rich led the offensive charge, throwing two touchdown passes and adding two more scores on the ground. Da’marrion Torres-Hughes showcased his versatility with both a receiving and rushing touchdown, while Jose Puente, Amari Nealy, and Davis Wren each contributed rushing scores to round out the explosive offensive effort.
The defense was equally impressive, shutting out their opponent and creating turnovers throughout the night. Titan Tuggle had a standout performance, recording three interceptions to halt any offensive momentum. Rush Blair recovered a fumble, while Lyam Whitmire added another fumble recovery to keep the Broncos in control.
The Broncos will now turn their attention to district play, as they travel to Killeen next Wednesday to take on Chaparral in what promises to be a pivotal matchup to kick off the next phase of their season.
