The Lake Belton JV Silver Broncos hit the road Thursday night and came away with a hard-fought 20-14 victory over Leander Rouse in a game defined by defensive grit and timely offensive execution.
The Broncos set the tone early when Wesley Bradley forced a fumble and recovered it himself, rumbling 15 yards to give Lake Belton prime field position. The offense capitalized quickly as Adrian Pippins powered his way into the end zone for a 7-yard score, putting the Broncos ahead.
Lake Belton’s defense continued to deliver throughout the night, forcing three turnovers that proved crucial in keeping momentum on their side. Caleb Smith snagged a key interception, while Prince Moore sealed the game with a dramatic late-game pick to halt Rouse’s comeback hopes.
Offensively, the Broncos spread the wealth, with Riley Kristinek and Everett Mach each finding the end zone to extend the lead.
The 20-14 victory highlighted the Broncos’ ability to make plays on both sides of the ball and underscored the value of a complete team effort. With contributions from across the roster, Lake Belton secured a memorable win and carried home momentum for the season ahead.
