The Lake Belton JV Red Broncos earned a hard-fought 27-14 victory over Liberty Hill on Thursday night, improving their season record to 3-2.
Adler Alezy opened the scoring in the first quarter with a rushing touchdown, but the PAT was no good. Liberty Hill answered with a score of their own, making it 6-6 after the first quarter. Both defenses held strong through the second quarter, keeping the halftime score tied at 6-6.
The Broncos came out strong in the second half. Keaton Rudolph connected with Pedro Sanchez Jimenez for a touchdown pass, followed by a successful PAT from Diego Garcia. Rudolph later added another touchdown pass, this time to Shon Miller, with Garcia once again adding the extra point. Jonas Bowers sealed the game for Lake Belton by scooping up a fumble and returning it for a touchdown, with Garcia nailing his third PAT of the night.
The Bronco defense set the tone throughout the game, led by standout performances from Prince Kabuya, Kaleb Leza, and Colten Bulls.
