The Lake Belton Boys JV Silver delivered a gritty, defense-first performance Tuesday night in a competitive scrimmage against Liberty Hill JV, showing resilience, discipline, and strong team chemistry as the season draws closer.
From the opening whistle, Lake Belton set the tone with organized pressure and committed defending across the field. Liberty Hill tested the Broncos with sustained possession and quick transitions, but the JV Silver back line held firm, limiting dangerous chances and forcing play wide.
Defensively, Efren Romero stood out with his positioning and physicality, consistently stepping into passing lanes and winning key tackles to break up Liberty Hill’s attacking momentum. His leadership in the back helped keep the defensive shape compact throughout the match.
In goal, Lake Belton benefited from outstanding performances by Brody Crocker and Josiah Briggs, who both rose to the challenge with confident saves and strong communication. Each goalkeeper made crucial stops under pressure, anchoring the defense and preventing Liberty Hill from capitalizing on their opportunities.
Offensively, Tyler Adkins provided a spark up top as the Broncos’ striker. His work rate, hold-up play, and willingness to press defenders helped relieve pressure and create breathing room for the defense. Adkins’ efforts forced Liberty Hill to stay honest at the back and opened space for Lake Belton to build forward when opportunities arose.
With this strong defensive showing against a quality Liberty Hill JV side, the Broncos will look to carry their intensity and cohesion into upcoming scrimmages and the regular season ahead.
