The Lake Belton Boys JV Silver Soccer team wrapped up their preseason schedule in strong fashion with an impressive and well-rounded scrimmage against Killeen High School, showing confidence, cohesion, and momentum heading into the regular season.
From the opening kickoff, the Broncos controlled the tempo with sharp ball movement and disciplined positioning across the field. Their work in the midfield set the foundation for sustained possession and quality attacking opportunities throughout the match.
The lone goal of the contest came from midfielder Pablo Sanchez, who capitalized on a well-worked buildup to finish cleanly and reward the Broncos’ persistent pressure. Sanchez’s composure in the final moment reflected the team’s growing comfort and confidence in the attacking third.
Up front, Tyler Adkins delivered a standout performance as a forward, consistently applying pressure on Killeen’s back line and creating space with smart runs and physical play. His work rate helped keep the opposing defense on their heels and opened opportunities for teammates to push forward.
In the midfield, Jakob Arevalo and Nicholas Ling played key roles in controlling possession and linking play. Arevalo’s vision and passing helped dictate the pace, while Ling’s energy and positioning provided balance on both sides of the ball. Together, they anchored a midfield unit that limited Killeen’s chances while fueling the Broncos’ attack.
On the wing, Layton Evans, using his speed and creativity to stretch the field and deliver dangerous service into the box. His willingness to take on defenders added another dimension to Lake Belton’s offense.
The final preseason scrimmage served as a strong statement for the JV Silver squad. With solid team chemistry, disciplined play, and multiple individual standouts, Lake Belton enters the regular season with confidence and a clear sense of identity.
