Lake Belton Wrestling Competes at Alpha Wolf Tournament

The Lake Belton wrestling teams competed this weekend at the Alpha Wolf tournament, gaining valuable experience and earning multiple podium finishes against a deep and competitive field. Both the boys and girls squads showed continued growth, highlighted by strong consolation runs, bonus-point victories, and several top-three finishes.

On the boys side, Tanner Wentz delivered one of the standout performances of the day, placing 3rd at 126 lbs. Wentz recorded multiple wins by fall, battling back through the consolation bracket after a semifinal loss to secure his spot on the podium. Austin Carrillo matched that effort at 144 lbs, also finishing 3rd, earning three falls on his way to the bronze medal match.

Carl Huffman put together a solid run at 138 lbs, earning multiple bonus-point victories and contributing important team points. Cayden Allison picked up a key sudden-victory win in the consolation bracket at 150 lbs, while Kameron Adams earned a quick pin in consolation action at 132 lbs, helping the team with valuable points. Several other wrestlers gained important mat time, facing tough competition and continuing to build experience heading into the later portion of the season.

The girls team turned in an impressive showing, led by multiple medalists. Michelle Hoffman placed 3rd at 140 lbs, scoring significant team points with three wins by fall. Anna Huffman followed suit with a 3rd-place finish at 170 lbs, recording three pins, including two rapid falls in consolation action.

The top finish of the tournament for Lake Belton came from Lorelai Scallorn, who placed 2nd at 235 lbs. Scallorn advanced to the finals with two dominant victories before finishing as the runner-up, earning 18 team points. Alayna Royals and Kameryn Vaden each picked up wins by fall and contributed team points, while Akira Beck gained additional high-level experience after advancing to the semifinal round.
