The Lake Belton JV boys wrestling team competed this weekend at the Jim Grimm Memorial Tournament, getting a lot of good mat time and continuing to grow as a group. With a full lineup across many weight classes, the Broncos showed toughness, effort, and improvement throughout the day.

James Holt had a big day, finishing 1st in his bracket. He controlled his matches from start to finish and capped off the tournament with a quick win in the finals.

Johnny Lopez also finished 1st, wrestling with confidence all day and taking care of business in the championship match.

Several Broncos made deep runs in their brackets and reached the finals. Cayden Allison, Damien Cabrera, and Malcolm Paulk each finished 2nd, battling through their brackets and earning spots in the championship matches after strong performances earlier in the day.

A number of wrestlers fought their way back through the consolation rounds and reached the consolation finals, including Koltyn Adams, Travis Lightbourne, and Cayden Harrison. Each of them showed grit after early losses and finished the day with solid performances.

Other JV wrestlers picked up important wins in the consolation rounds and continued to gain valuable experience. Benjamin Green, Triton Vaden, Cahnnon Hambrick, Jethro Copley, and Caleb Eckert all earned wins after setbacks and kept competing hard through the end of the tournament.

It was a good weekend for the Lake Belton JV program. The team continues to improve, gain confidence, and build depth as the season moves forward to district.
