Lake Belton Wrestling hosted a full dual night against Belton High, with varsity girls, varsity boys, and several extra JV matches giving athletes across the lineup valuable mat time as the season continues to move toward district competition.
The Lady Broncos picked up four varsity wins on the night and continued to show growth and confidence across the lineup. At the 120 weight class, Arionna Smith opened the scoring for Lake Belton with a pin in 1:08. Several other weights were decided by forfeits, giving the girls team continued opportunities to gain varsity experience.
On the boys side, the varsity lineup faced a challenging slate but produced several strong performances. At the 138 weight class, Carl Huffman dominated his match, earning a technical fall with an 18–1 score. Austin Carrillo controlled the pace at 144 and earned a major decision, 20–9. At the 165 weight class, Makana Latta battled through a tough match and secured a pin late in the third period. Joseph Casmus wrapped up the varsity scoring with a fall at 190 in 1:57.
Lake Belton also competed in multiple extra JV matches, giving younger wrestlers important live-match experience. Jakobe Sisson, James Holt, Davis Wren, Triton Vaden, Koltyn Adams, and Johnny Lopez all gained valuable mat time in their extra bouts. At heavyweight, Caleb Eckert picked up a strong win with a pin in 1:30, closing out the night on a high note for the Broncos.
