The Lake Belton Bronco Softball team proved this weekend that no lead is safe when they are in the dugout. Competing in the massive 32-team Brittany Tuck Tournament, the Broncos battled their way to a stellar 5-1 record, securing a 5th-place overall finish.

Throughout the weekend, Lake Belton displayed a relentless offensive engine and a "never say die" attitude, repeatedly erasing deficits in their final at-bats.

Game 1: Lake Belton 8, Georgetown 2
The Broncos opened the tournament with a statement win over the Georgetown Eagles. The bats were hot early, led by Analicia Diaz and Avery Park, who both notched two doubles. Natalie Hosch earned the win with three solid innings, while Lilliana Herrera slammed the door with six strikeouts in relief.

Game 2: Lake Belton 6, Hutto 4
The comeback trend began against the Hutto Hippos. Down late, the Broncos exploded for four runs in the top of the 7th inning to steal the win. Brysen Gott and Avery Park paced the offense, while Herrera again provided lights-out relief, allowing only one hit over three innings.

Game 3: Lake Belton 6, Leander 5
In what was arguably the game of the tournament, the Broncos faced powerhouse Leander. Down to their final two outs in the last inning, Lake Belton manufactured six runs. The highlight of the weekend came from Alaysha Williams, who crushed a game-tying grand slam to shift the momentum entirely. Natalie Hosch picked up the win in the circle.

After a tough Game 4 loss to the East View Patriots (5-2)—a game marred by late-inning defensive miscues—the Broncos showed their character by refocusing and finishing the tournament on a high note.

Game 5: Lake Belton 8, Glenn 0
The Broncos left no doubt against the Glenn Grizzlies, powered by a home run clinic. Nani Rubio went deep twice (8 total bases), and Madison Perkins added a long ball of her own. Kayleigh Jackson earned the win, combining with Hosch and Herrera for a dominant shutout.

Game 6: Lake Belton 12, Vista Ridge 6
The finale against Vista Ridge required extra innings, and once again, the Broncos thrived under pressure. Lake Belton hung six runs on the Rangers in the top of the extra frame. Madison Naser was a force at the plate with two doubles, while Analicia Diaz wreaked havoc on the basepaths with three stolen bases. Lilliana Herrera provided four innings of masterful relief to seal the 5th-place finish.

The Broncos won’t have to wait long to see a familiar foe. Up next, Lake Belton hits the road this Tuesday, February 24, traveling to Hutto for a highly anticipated rematch against the Hippos.
