Lady Bronco Golf at Delaware Springs

Both Lady Bronco golf teams competed on Wednesday, March 11 at Delaware Springs. This was the first time any of the golfers had played the course. This was the largest tournament the teams have participated in this year with 120 girls playing on 24 teams. The rainy cloudy morning turned into a beautiful day of golf with lots of sunshine and light wind. The teams were delayed to the course due to a small bus issue, but our BISD Transportation department took care of it quickly and got them back on the road. The delay was going to result in very limited warm up time, but when the teams arrived, the range was closed because of the rain, so there was no disadvantage to Lake. It all worked out!
The Silver Team placed 17th overall and shot a 410. This was their best round of the season and was almost thirty shots below their average! They are trending in the right direction, with district just around the corner.
Junior Lyliana Gonzalez again had the lowest round for the Silver Team. She shot a 92 which included one birdie, two pars, and nine bogeys. She finished in 40th place individually.
Sophomore Kaylee Carubelli had the round of her life! She shot a 99, a new personal best! Her previous personal best was a 106 at Stonetree in 2025. She had one birdie, one par, and eight bogeys. She finished in the middle of the pack at 62nd.
Suellen Tillis, senior shot a solid 106. She had one birdie, one par, and two bogeys.
She was followed by freshman Hayleigh McConnell with a 113, who had two pars and two bogeys.
Junior Lillie Mikes finished out the scoring for the Silver Team with a 117 and included two bogeys.
The Red Team also competed well. They shot 454 as a team.
Junior Reese Sexton had the lowest round for the Red Team, shooting a 105. She had one par and five bogeys.
Freshman Emory Jolivet also had a great round, shooting a 112. She had one par and four bogeys.
Next was freshman Emily McMillon with a 116. Emily had two bogeys on the round.
And finishing out scoring for the Red Team were Freshman Kaylee Holler and Junior Araceli Young, both shooting 121. Holler had one bogey. This was Young's second tournament and was a personal best. She shot 145 last week at Bear Ridge.
After taking off during Spring Break, the teams will participate in one more tournament each before the District Tournament. The Silver Team will play the District Preview at Cottonwood on March 24 and the Red Team will play in the BISD Tournament at Stonetree on March 25. The District Tournament will be at Cottonwood on April 1 and 2.
