Lake Belton JV Red closed the book on a special season in the best way possible Saturday, knocking off Rouse 11-4 to cap a dominant year filled with growth, toughness, and consistency.

From the opening inning, Lake Belton set the tone. A six-run first inning gave lake all the momentum they needed, fueled by clutch at-bats from Braxton Bronson, Gavin Powers, Gavin Kuechenmeister, Hamilton Hughes, and Andrew McGuire. The lineup stayed aggressive and disciplined all game, finishing with 13 hits and drawing 10 walks to keep constant pressure on Rouse.

Kuechenmeister led the way at the plate with a 3-for-4 day, while Powers, Hughes, and McGuire each drove in two runs. Bronson added multiple hits, and the team’s speed was on full display with 14 stolen bases, showing the kind of relentless style that defined their season.

On the mound, Gunner Rich set the tone early, throwing three scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. The bullpen followed suit, with Kyson Fish, Hughes, Stanford, and Oglesby each delivering strong innings to secure the win.

The victory not only sealed the game but put a fitting exclamation point on an incredible season. Lake Belton JV Red finishes the year 20-5-1 overall and a perfect 9-0 in district play — a testament to their consistency and team-first mentality.

While it’s tough to see the season come to an end, there’s no better way to finish than with a win like this. This group competed, improved, and represented the program the right way from start to finish.

The future is bright for Lake Belton baseball!
