The Broncos traveled to Salado on Tuesday night for a non-district matchup. The gym was filled with excitement as both teams brought full student sections and plenty of enthusiastic fans.
The first set featured an exciting back-and-forth battle, with the Eagles narrowly edging out the Broncos, 25-23. The Broncos continued to fight in the second and third sets, but Salado’s strong offensive attack proved difficult to overcome, as the Eagles took the final two sets, 25-12 and 25-15.
Despite the loss, the Broncos had several bright moments throughout the evening. Ava Wood sparked several scoring runs and contributed four kills, while Kaleileana Cress also recorded four kills. Kenna Morrison led the defensive effort with 10 digs, followed by Kamryn Daniels with nine and Haylee Kasner with seven. Morgan Campbell added three blocks on the night, while Wood recorded two.
The Broncos will return to district play Friday night when they travel to Copperas Cove High School for a 5:00 p.m. matchup.
