The JV Lake Belton High School Boys Soccer team jumped out to a strong start in the 2024 campaign with a 2-1 victory on the road against San Angelo Central. The team had a stellar December - forcing a draw against Hutto and then stringing together wins over Liberty Hill, La Vega, and Bryan. In their first true game of the season on Tuesday they capped another strong display with a win over 6A program San Angelo Central to begin the year 1-0-0. Robert Klotz found the back of the net on a corner in the 10th minute to put the Broncos up 1-0, and Zane Fitzwater found paydirt on yet another Bronco set piece in the 38th minute to extend Lake Belton's lead to 2-0. Central responded in the 55th minute with a goal of their own, but impressive play from the Bronco backline in the closing stages maintained the 2-1 victory for Lake. The Lake Belton JV team will now set their sights on upcoming tournament play looking to continue their hot streak into the New Year.
