The LBHS cheerleaders headed to the State UIL Cheerleading competition at the begining of January, where they showed off their game day ability through their band chant, sideline cheer, and fight song. After proving that they were one of the top 20 teams out of 71 5A D1 teams in the state, they earned the right to hit the floor a second time in the finals. They started off using flags in a creative way to lead the crowd in their band chant. Next, the captain thought quickly on her feet and lead the team to respond to a situational football call with a crowdleading chant. They moved into their cheer, where they added in some creative stunts, then finished it off with a sensational fight song. The team brought home 17th place in one of the toughest divisions at the competition.
