On Friday night the LBHS Broncos faced off against the BHS Tigers in a cross town rivalry. Before the game could even get started both teams were forced into the school due to a lightning delay. Both teams stayed fresh and locked in because when the game started it was a back and forth battle between the schools. LBHS was able to break through with a goal from Ayden Meeks, assisted by Branson Greger. The score was 1-0 at half time. The rain picked up and the temperature dropped making for an exciting second half. Lake Belton's defensive line was holding strong still pitching a shut out when 9 minutes left the game was forced into another lightning delay. With rainfall coming down the Broncos held strong and were able to finish the game with a 1-0 victory. This put the Broncos at 2-2 in district play and are currently on a 2 game winning streak. The Broncos take the field against the Chaparral Bobcats on Tuesday 2/6/24.
