In a thrilling matchup on Tuesday night, the Lake Belton JV Silver soccer team showcased grit and determination, earning a 1-1 draw against Harker Heights JV. The game, played at Harker Heights, featured moments of brilliance and a defensive masterclass from Lake Belton’s back line.

The opening half saw both teams fighting for control in the midfield, with neither able to break through early. Harker Heights applied pressure with several runs into the box, but Lake Belton’s defensive trio of Jack McCullagh, Lucas Garza, and Santana Herrera held firm. Their outstanding positioning and timely clearances kept the game scoreless through much of the first half.

Lake Belton's persistence paid off in spectacular fashion when Jacob Boone stepped up to take a free kick from 35 yards out. Boone struck the ball with power and precision, sending it soaring over the defensive wall and into the top corner of the net, leaving the Harker Heights goalkeeper no chance. The goal electrified the Lake Belton bench and took the lead in the game at 1-0.

Late in the game, Harker Heights managed to capitalize on a loose ball inside the penalty area, scoring to tie the match 1-1.
