The first half saw Harker Heights set the tone early, applying relentless pressure on Lake Belton's defense. Their persistence paid off, as they capitalized on two defensive lapses to take a commanding 2-0 lead before halftime. The Lake Belton defense worked hard to regain composure, but Harker Heights' attack proved too strong in the opening 30 minutes.
