The Lake Belton Broncos didn’t just show up to the A&M Bluebonnet Invitational, they announced themselves. In one of the most explosive performances in program history, the boys and girls combined for three new school records and four personal bests, turning a loaded meet into a showcase of grit, speed, and rising talent.

The fireworks began early with senior sprinter Bella Garcia, who delivered one of the most jaw-dropping 100m performances the program has ever seen. Entering the meet with a personal best of 12.32, Garcia unleashed a blistering 11.95, smashing both her PR and the school record.

She entered seeded 87th, but stormed her way to a 42nd-place finish, dropping the school mark from 12.06 to 11.95 and cementing herself as one of the fastest athletes in Central Texas.

Not to be outdone, the boys’ 100m brought its own electricity. Zion Harness came in seeded 89th, opened with a strong 10.82, and then because one PR wasn’t enough turned around and blasted a 10.697, a massive personal best that pushed him to a 47th-place finish in a stacked field.

Harness’ performance was a statement: Lake Belton sprinting is leveling up fast.

Then came the moment everyone has come to expect but never take for granted. Nylah Berrian, already the school record holder in the 400m, stepped onto the track and did it again.

She didn’t just break the record she lowered her own mark from 57.5 to 56.95, finishing 25th overall and continuing her reign as one of the most dominant quarter-milers in program history.

The final exclamation point came from the field events, where Ji’Tyson Sherman delivered a performance that stunned the entire venue. Ranked as the last qualifier out of 48 athletes, Sherman launched himself to a massive 45’7.75”, shattering the previous school record of 44’09.75” and earning a 6th-place finish against elite competition.

His jump wasn’t just a PR, it was a breakthrough.

Three school records. Four PRs. And a meet full of athletes outperforming their seeds, expectations, and limits.

The A&M Bluebonnet Invitational didn’t just showcase individual brilliance, it signaled that Lake Belton Track & Field is evolving into a powerhouse. With momentum building across sprints, jumps, and relays, the Broncos are proving they can compete with and beat the best.

This weekend wasn’t luck. It was preparation, belief, and a program stepping boldly into its future.
